Brahms Liebeslieder Waltzes, June, 1991

BrahmsI recently came across a recording that was captured of myself and my college friend Colleen Gilmore playing the Brahms Liebeslieder Waltzes, Op. 52 “b” arranged for 2 pianos.  The occasion was Colleen’s senior recital at West Chester University, and I was recruited to take the second piano bench.  The piece is wonderfully arranged for 2 pianos and gives both parts pretty equal time on the musical playing field.  Colleen sounded great on this evening, and the Brahms was the opening piece on the program.

My page turner from this particular evening, Joe Andreucci, died in 1995 in his late 30s, perhaps early 40s. He was a pianist himself and a great guy.

I've included the recording below. I'm somehow sure that Colleen doesn't have this anywhere, so I hope through this post she'll find this recording of a great collaboration between two young pianists.

Enjoy. The recording is in its entirety, and is around 20 minutes in length.
