New York Marathon today!

I just purchased a “pay-per-view” web version of the New York City Marathon, which I’ll be watching today.  I’m pumped to see Alan, Meb and Deena try to give the americans their first win since Alberto Salazar. 

And of course, Lance Armstrong’s participation in the race has brought a certain sense of “star power” to running, even though he’s known as a cyclist.  His presence as a new member of the sport has given it even greater visibility than the elite athletes have, and I think we need somebody like him to elevate the sport.  I’ve included a great video that I found.  It is of a highlight reel for Deena Kastor, who I think is a phenomenal athlete and I anticipate she’ll be very competitive today.

Good luck to all the runners.  If I ever choose to run 26.2 miles, New York would be the place I’d wanna do it.
